How to Become a Morning Workout Person

I am not a morning person. Usually it takes everything in me just to get out of bed, let alone do any physical activity. If I had my choice, I would schedule workouts for late afternoon or the evening. However it’s not really doable in the season I’m in, so my workouts this season have been, well, nonexistent.

But Sunday night I was determined, that this would be THE WEEK, that I would commit to getting up earlier so that I could workout, at least for the next few weeks as I finish up the current season I’m in / schedule I must adhere to.

So I set my alarm for 6:30 am.

Monday morning I got up (very reluctantly) and did Level 1 of 30 Day Shred. I’m definitely out of shape after slacking on the workouts but definitely felt more ready for my day after that. Tuesday and Wednesday I ignored my alarm. Well, I don’t have it all down, I am simply a girl on a journey, sharing in order to inspire from amidst my imperfect journey,  and I figured that I might as well share some helpful tips to help both of us….

  • sleep in your workout clothes
  • go to bed earlier
  • set your alarm as a song that pumps you up
  • have a plan of what workout you’re going to do
  • do a shorter workout – even 15 minutes is better than nothing
  • place your alarm far away from your bed
